The Orb of Pyritus

A tremor surges across the etherverse. . . The strong of a thousand universes hear its call. Like an eternal black hole it once drew power and the powerful to itself. Now, the portals open once again.
Many will seek the prize, and many will fall before its might. But in the end, there can be only one. . .

. . . one WIELDER OF THE ORB!

A new round of the Newcomers Role Play ‘The Orb of Pyritus’ has just opened! Stop on my the RP section and get your Character Dev’ on!

The Orb of Pyritus

It is all powerful and sought by many, but few are the ones who will wield it. When it was created, the Orb opened a myriad of portals to other dimensions, as though it were calling its suitors into battle. Now, conflict is brewing across the Multiverse as competitors seek to be the sole holder of the ORB OF PYRITUS.

The Game
This is not a typical game on the RPG forum. It is designed for low commitment play for any players who want to introduce themselves, practice, experiment, or just have fun.

The goal of each character is to acquire the Orb of Pyritus. When the orb was created it opened many portals from other dimensions. Your character can be from any dimension you can imagine and be whatever type of character you wish. Its wide open.

Co-Op Stories – Call for Authors!

WF

I’ve mentioned WritingForums.org before, and while I didn’t say it explicitly, I am the moderator of the RPG Sub-Forum.

We really need some new members in the RPG forum!  Not because there isn’t enough activity, but because we are growing so fast!  This week, three amazing co-writing stories opened and there are a few others taking writers.  This is about Writing, not ‘Gaming’.  Keep reading to find out more!

Eternity Undone – my crappy short story

This is a short story from a while back that I’m still unhappy with.  I think the biggest problem is that the characters really fall flat.  I’m posting it in its rawest form, not to show my work, but to get some ADVICE.  What could I have done, short of tripling the length of the piece, to better develop the characters?

Eternity Undone

“I love Seamus, I really do. It’s just,” Sarah’s voice cracked as she strained to find the words, “Oh Henry, I don’t know what to do anymore.”

The girl stared at the floor and her auburn hair fell over her face.  Images of meeting Seamus on her first day of school, studying together for exams, and their long talks of physics, life, and love flashed through her mind.  Henry reached an aged hand into his pocket and produced a clean handkerchief.
